Dr. Khouli Receives Wholeness of Life Award

The Department of Medicine at St. Luke’s and Roosevelt Hospitals (SLR) announces that Hassan Khouli, MD, Chief, Critical Care Section at SLR, has been recognized by the HealthCare Chaplaincy with its 2012 Wholeness of Life Award. Based in New York City, the Chaplaincy provides spiritual care to patients, families and personnel of all faiths at SLR and various other healthcare institutions in the New York metro area.

This annual coworker-nominated accolade is bestowed upon healthcare providers who excel in teamwork and delivery of compassionate care that respects a patient’s physical, mental and spiritual well-being.

“We are honored to acknowledge Dr. Khouli for his commitment to teamwork among staff and across departments,” said the Rev. Florine Thompson, Director of Pastoral Care and Education at SLR. “He leads by example and is always seeking opportunities to wholeheartedly serve others with respect, integrity, compassion and excellence.”

There will be a special award ceremony and luncheon for Dr. Khouli at St. Luke’s Chapel on October 16 at noon. He will also be recognized at the Chaplaincy’s annual Wholeness of Life Awards Dinner at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Manhattan on November 8, along with honorees from various other hospitals in the greater New York region.
