UMPA Recognized as Level-3 Patient-Centered Medical Home

8/28/2013

The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) recently named University Medical Practice Associates, St. Luke’s and Roosevelt Hospitals’ multispecialty group practice in Manhattan—UMPA at 59th Street, UMPA at Amsterdam Avenue and St. Luke’s Medical Group as Level-3 Patient-Centered Medical Home(PCMH). NCQA’s PCMH designation recognizes clinical practices that use systematic, patient-centered and coordinated care management processes.

According to NCQA, clinicians, insurers, purchasers, consumer groups and others know the patient-centered medical home is a proven alternative to the nation’s costly, fragmented delivery system. Research confirms that medical homes lead to higher quality care, improved patient experiences and lower costs.
