Hepatitis C Program
The Mount Sinai Doctors Faculty Practice (formerly Mount Sinai St. Luke's Medical Group), an UMPA practice site based in Central Harlem, offers high-quality care to hepatitis C patients in Harlem and the surrounding community through its Hepatitis C Program. The initiative is led by two highly experienced hepatitis specialists, Samuel J. Daniel, MD, a gastroenterologist, and Geraldine Joseph, RPA-C, MPH, a physician assistant.
The team works closely with local organizations -- such as the William F. Ryan Center -- and primary care physicians at Mount Sinai Doctors Faculty Practice and within the community who refer patients for specialty care. The group provides various diagnostic and treatment services, including the screening of patients for hepatitis C and related diseases, such as cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma and hepatitis B. Patients also have access to a support group and a direct referral network to other skilled specialists for comprehensive care.
In addition, Dr. Daniel and Ms. Joseph perform outreach services, providing disease education and screenings at churches, health fairs and other community events. For more information on the SLMG Hepatitis C Program, please contact:
